An old beggar in Sherpur district has donated Tk 10 thousand which was saved in two years for repairing his home, to the jobless poor people during the corona pandemic.

Nozimuddin (80), a resident of Gandhigaon village under the Kangsha union of Jhinaigati Upazila in the district, lives on alms with his family.

He saved Tk 10 thousand in two years for repairing his home. But he hasn't hesitated to donate the money to the distressed people as he thinks it is more important to save lives than repairing home.

Nozimuddin handed over the money to Jhinaigati Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rubel Mahmud on Tuesday noon.
